Topographic Survey:

Topographical survey is used to map the surface features like trees, water ways, fences, buildings, surface undulations, electrical/telecom lines, etc. in a project site. Typically, industries, infrastructures, real estate projects, etc. require a topographical survey drawing to be made available before commencement of the designer's work.

Sites surveyed in crowded cities may be very small (just a few thousand square feet) but the value of the land is usually high. Whereas, topographical survey carried out for industrial projects usually run into many thousands of acres. In both the cases, measurements must be made to very high order of accuracy.

Utility Mapping:

Utility companies like telecom, electricity, water supply, sewerage disposal, etc. often require the entire road network within a city to be mapped. More often than not, these companies also require the buried features mapped either by digging a trial pit or by using a GPS.

Cadastral Survey:

Government Departments in the country are presently considering the possibility of appointing private agencies to map the land parcels using modern surveying equipment to high order of accuracy and update the land records. This type of survey is called Cadastral Survey.

Railway design:
